Rules: The regatta will be governed by the current Racing Rules of Sailing except as any of these are changed by the Notice Of Race and Sailing Instructions. In the event of a conflict between a rule in the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions, the rule in the Sailing Instructions shall take precedence. This changes RRS 63.7. This event does not count for CBYRA High Point. RRS 26 will be changed for a pursuit start, which is detailed in the Event Sailing Instructions.
Entry Due:

For Boats requesting a courtesy PHRF rating, complete entries must be received at EYC on or before Friday 29 August 2008. For boats with a valid PHRF Certificate, complete entries must be received at EYC on or before Noon Tuesday 2 September 2008.

Eligibility: The regatta is open to all boats in the CRAB Freedom 20 fleet and PHRF Non-Spinnaker at least 20 feet in overall length. Boats usually racing Cruising One Design are eligible to complete with a valid PHRF certificate. Boats without a valid PHRF certificate may request a courtesy PHRF rating from PHRF Chesapeake through Eastport Yacht Club. The starting order is based on valid PHRF and courtesy ratings determined by the Organizing Authority.
Rendevous: 1100 in vicinity of Region 3 Annapolis Area FL Y 2.5 sec “A” Mark off Greenbury Point.
Start: First start at 1200 between Race Committee signal boat and orange tetrahedron drop mark, or nearby Government Mark. Individual participant starting times will be posted on the EYC website and available at EYC for pickup beginning at 0900 Friday September 5th.
Finish: Between Race Committee and nearby Standard Racing Mark or Government Mark, as specified in the Event Sailing Instructions.
Course: Standard Racing or Government Marks to be announced in Event Sailing Instructions and as posted on Race Committee signal boat.
Sailing Instructions:

Event Sailing Instructions, including Starting Order will be posted on the EYC website www.eastporyc.org by Friday, September 5, 2008, and will be available in printed form at the EYC clubhouse at the same time. Sailing Instructions also will be placed in “skippers bags” available for pickup by all competitors at EYC on Friday evening, September 5, 2008 from 1730 to 1930 and on Saturday morning, September 6th, from 0830 to 1000.

Signals: This regatta will consist of one pursuit race with a reverse PHRF starting order. This modifies RRS 26. Starting signals and times based on PHRF and length of course, with slower boats starting first, will be detailed in the Event Sailing Instructions.
Scoring: Two Classes will be scored: CRAB and PHRF Non-Spinnaker.
Awards: Awards will be given to all competitors on boats placing first through 7th. Special trophies will be awarded to the 1st through 4th place boats for CRAB class
Social: A post race party and trophy presentation will be held at Eastport Yacht Club, 317 First Street, Annapolis, and is open to participants and CRAB supporters. Bar featuring Mount Gay Rum and Heineken Beer will be open at 1600. Food service and live band will be from 1700-2000. Entry, food and drink tickets are available by advance purchase or at the party. Details to be announced.
Other: A rule in the Event Sailing Instructions will take precedence over one in the NOR in the event of any conflict. This changes RRS 63.7.
